The Italian Job
Our good friend Daniele Castracane is in the process of booking a couple of dates in Italy for Haze later this year - more news soon! In the meantime - if anyone has any contacts with any gigs in France, Holland or Germany let us know & we’ll see if we can fit them in on the way.

Strongheart

OK, we never made it to Germany on New Year’s Eve, but we’re now heading for Holland in May. We’re playing at the Borstrock Festival in Nieuw-Vosseneer, Holland on Saturday 15th May and hope to have a few other dates lined up around it. (See our festival report on the Strongheart Website)We’re also backing Steve Roberts, the ex drummer with UK Subs turned singer, in a new project called Big City Rodeo. There’s a single and video in the pipeline, plus some good industry connections - Trevor Bolder has expressed an interest in managing the band. So you may see me on Top Of The Pops yet!?! We’ll be playing our first show together at ‘Wombstock’ the festival at the Lundhill Tavern, Wombwell, this coming Monday.

Wombstock

Is an all day festival held at the Lundhill Tavern, Beech House Road, Hemingfield, Barnsley S73 on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May in aid of the MacMillan nurses. Bands confirmed are Big City Rodeo, Strongheart, Satsuma!, Carnival Of Thieves, Gypsy, Company Of Wolves, Green Sherpa & Nick Davies.

I Wanna Be Elected
The Sheffield local council elections are on the 6th May, & I’m standing! Last year my co-habitee Nicola Freeman stood for the Green Party in the Walkley ward & beat the Tories into 4th place. This year Nicola is again standing in Walkley & I’m in the adjacent Hillsborough ward(for the Greens of course), so if you live there, or know anyone who does, you know where to put that tick! PS If you want any posters for your window, just give us a call.

Cellar Replay Replayed
OK we’re finally seriously honestly starting work on the ‘Cellar Replay/Cellar Tapes’ CD re-issue for Cyclops Records. It will be a limited edition of 500 numbered copies on the Club Cyclops label, available from ourselves and GFT/Cyclops. There’s no release date as yet, but we expect to have it available by late summer. Track listing will be everything from ‘Cellar Replay’ plus bonus tracks from ‘Cellar Tapes’ and ‘Warts’n’All’.

Sheffield Music College
For the last few weeks, me and fellow Stronghearts have been running music seminars at the Burton Street Project, Burton Street, Hillsborough, Sheffield. Best known as the location for much of The Full Monty filming, it’s an old school building being converted into a community arts centre. Bobby ran a drum seminar on 11th April, I ran a bass one on 18th April & Wilbur did a guitar seminar on 25th April, with special guest Graham Oliver ex-Saxon. Next week(2nd May) it’s me & Joel White doing keyboards & the week after (9th) we’re doing a recap/free for all session. Adm is £2 & sessions run 5-7.30pm. Call 0114 233 2908 for details.
